Steam
Connect your Steam game to Oplix to unlock powerful community feedback and review analysis features. This integration lets you automatically pull Steam reviews, analyze player sentiment, and gain insights into what your community is saying.
Prerequisites
Before setting up Steam integration, make sure you have:
- Active Oplix Subscription - Navigate to Team Settings > Billing to subscribe
- Published Steam Game - Your game must be live on Steam with a valid App ID
- Team Admin Access - You need admin permissions in your Oplix team
Setting Up Steam Integration
Head to your Team Settings by clicking your profile picture in the top right, then selecting Team Settings. From there, click on the Integrations tab to see all available integrations.
Step 1: Enable Steam Integration
Find the Steam Integration card in your integrations list. You’ll see it’s currently disabled with a toggle switch. Go ahead and flip that toggle to enable it. The card will expand to show the setup form.
Step 2: Enter Your Steam Details
Now you’ll need to provide two pieces of information about your Steam game:
Steam App ID - This is your game’s unique identifier on Steam. You can find this in your Steamworks dashboard, or it’s the number in your game’s Steam store URL (like store.steampowered.com/app/123456). Just grab those numbers and paste them into the Steam App ID field.
Game Name - Type in your game’s name exactly as it appears on Steam. This helps keep everything organized, especially if you’re managing multiple games.
Once you’ve filled in both fields, click Submit. Oplix will verify your Steam App ID and establish the connection. This usually takes just a few seconds.
Step 3: Verify Connection
After submitting, you should see a success message confirming your Steam integration is active. The card will now show your integration name and the last sync time. Your Steam reviews will start flowing into Oplix’s analytics engine automatically.
Once connected, Oplix will automatically pull in your Steam reviews on a regular schedule. You don’t need to manually sync anything - just sit back and watch the insights roll in!
Managing Your Steam Integration
Editing Integration Details
Need to update your integration name? Click the Settings icon (gear icon) on the Steam integration card. You’ll see your current integration details with an Edit button next to the name.
Click Edit, type in your new name, and hit the checkmark to save. Simple as that!
Viewing Sync Status
The integration card always shows when your data was last synced with Steam. This timestamp updates automatically whenever Oplix pulls in new reviews or data from Steam. If you notice the sync time hasn’t updated in a while, don’t worry - it just means there hasn’t been new data to sync.
Removing the Integration
If you need to disconnect your Steam game, click the Settings icon and then the Delete button. You’ll see a confirmation dialog warning you that this action can’t be undone.
Deleting the integration will remove the connection to Steam, but won’t delete any historical data that’s already been imported into Oplix. You can always reconnect later if you change your mind.
Deleting your Steam integration is permanent. While your historical data remains in Oplix, you’ll stop receiving new Steam reviews and updates. You’ll need to go through the setup process again if you want to reconnect.
What Happens After Setup
Once your Steam integration is humming along, Oplix starts working its magic behind the scenes:
Automatic Review Import - Your Steam reviews get pulled into Oplix regularly. You don’t need to do anything - it just happens.
Sentiment Analysis - Oplix analyzes the sentiment of your reviews, helping you understand whether players are happy, frustrated, or somewhere in between.
Trend Detection - The system identifies emerging themes and issues in your reviews, so you can spot problems early and capitalize on what players love.
Community Dashboard - Head to the Community Dashboard in your sidebar to see all your Steam data visualized. You’ll find charts, graphs, and insights that make sense of thousands of reviews at a glance.
Common Issues
Invalid App ID Error
If you see an error saying your App ID is invalid:
- Double-check the App ID matches your game on Steam exactly
- Make sure your game is published and publicly visible on Steam
- Confirm you’re using the App ID, not your Publisher ID or other Steam identifier
No Reviews Showing Up
If reviews aren’t appearing after setup:
- Give it a few minutes - the initial sync can take a bit longer
- Check that your game actually has reviews on Steam
- Refresh the Community Dashboard page
- Verify your subscription is active in Team Billing
Connection Lost
If your integration shows as disconnected:
- Try deleting and re-adding the integration
- Verify your game is still published on Steam
- Check if Steam is experiencing any service issues
- Contact support if the problem persists
